Machine and tool manufacturers work closely together in order to timely and technically fulfil the end-customer requirements . An extremely important aspect, are the joint tool tests both at the pre-acceptance and final run-off. During these tests, the original nominal cutting parameters are adjusted and often even the tools are physically changed. . The tracking of these changes is of a vital importance for the next steps of the process and everybody tries to do it in his/her excel or any other kind of file. The situation becomes very complicated when the machine needs to be delivered to another country for the final acceptance There the local representatives of both machine and tool manufacturers usually do not exactly know what tool version they got in their hands and with which data they have to run them. Emails and different excel files are exchanged back and forth. Time and resources are waisted, and the project deadline is endangered.
The entire process and the collaboration between different sites and companies are made considerably easier using the c-Com „Machine Run-off“ module. The machine and tool manufacturers jointly administer the project-related data via c-Com. If changes are made to cutting parameters or to tools, these are tracked in c-Com and made available to all defined stakeholders during all subsequent processes. Both date, time and reason for the change are captured in real-time in c-Com ensuring transparency and traceability. Every step can be logged with several documents and attachments, for example pictures of the concerned tools. In case tools are serialised via a DM or QR code, these can unambiguously be identified and tracked in c-Com, avoiding in this way that different tool versions are mixed-up. The final acceptance at the customer becomes faster, efficient and error-free. Everybody knows what the right tools and data are. And after everything is finalized the released tool data such as master data, drawings and cutting data are made available in one click to the end customer via c-Com.
